ORSANCO conducted a supplemental study to develop site-specific bioaccumulation factors (BAF) for methylmercury in the Ohio River. Data gathering included of analysis of 12 composite water samples and 8 composite fish tissue samples. Water samples were collected by the use of an ultra-clean, isokinetic, Equal-Discharge Increment (EDI) sampling method. Composite water samples were analyzed by low-level methods for total and methylmercury in both filtered and unfiltered partitions, fish composites were analyzed for total and methyl mercury.
